Full of wtf moments but in a sincere way, not in that Try Hard way that plagues a lot of would-be cult films. Filled with Eastern European and African actors but deliberately dubbed in stilted English. Weird wild funny and surprisingly sweet. Sits between silly-fun exploitation like Dolemite and a Jodorwosky joint minus the bad vibes. No point in describing the plot. There is one, but this movie is an experience. And underneath all the laser-armed giant insects and stop motion action scenes, there’s a statement about identity, reality, technology, and humanity. Now if you’ll excuse me, there’s this cute little pizzeria on the beach I really want to try out.
