Oliver Reed and Diana Rigg lead an all-star cast in this film from 1969. Set before WW1, Diana Rigg is a reporter looking into the origins of a mysterious group of assassins operating around Europe. Her search leads her to the charming and enigmatic leader of the organisation played by Oliver Reed. She puts forth a challenge and commissions the assassination of...Oliver Reed! Reed agrees as he sees his organisation, which he inherited from his father, as having become decadent and drifted far from the notions of his father, who saw The Assassination Bureau, Ltd, as society's surgeons, cutting out the worst of the worst. This sets off a chase across Europe with Rigg tagging along to not only cover the story but to be near in case Reed's associates succeed in their charge. Co-starring Telly Savalas and Curt Jurgens, the film is a charming dark comedy.
